Italian Noodle Soup (Spaghetti)

Ingredients

2 lb hamburger
1 large onion
3-4 cloves of minced garlic
2-3 frozen basil cubes
1 66 oz jar Ragu, Original Style flavored w/ meat
1 28 oz can of diced tomatoes
2-3 bay leaves
pinch of oregano
1 tbsp sugar
Splash of red wine
salt & pepper
Parmesan cheese


Instructions

  1. In a skillet, saute the onion in olive oil, then add the garlic and basil at the end
  2. In a large pot, brown the hamburger by itself and then drain off the fat.
  3. Add the onions/garlic/basil to the large pot and add the Ragu, tomatoes, bay leaves, oregano, sugar, and wine. Bring to good simmer and then cook on low for 1 to 2 hours.
  4. Boil spaghetti noodles separately, and serve with parmesan cheese.
